Endorsement Quote

We would definitely go back with teenagers in tow because it’s such a good fit for them.

Family Traveller's Recommended Family Rooms

The thing with the hotel rooms is that they do not have additional beds only sofa beds, they overcome this by having interconnecting doors, but this is only exclusive to certain room types. The Grand Suite is well worth spending that extra money for or, if money is no object, then splash for the Imperial Suite - essentially a combination of the a Premier Room with the Presidential and Royal Suite, resulting in 2 bedrooms and over 600 square meters. The jewel in the crown is the wrap around 60 square meter terrace which features a sky lounge. There’s a dining room has a feature fireplace, a small but adequate kitchen, and a large lounge. With this particular suite, you’ll have the exclusive benefit of a complimentary full mini-bar, fresh fruit, and free parking.

Food & Drink

Baltazar Bar & Grill is a Spanish steakhouse.

Spiler by the Sea is a new restaurant opening late 2018.

The Black Rose Bar is located in the lobby, it has sea views and is the perfect stop off before heading to your room.

El Mirador has probably one of the best breakfast buffets we’ve seen which includes over 100 healthy items to kickstart your day.

Getting There

The hotel is 50 minutes from Malaga International Airport and also 50 minutes from Gibraltar International Airport.

Taxis are available at the arrivals’ exit and the fares start at EUR 90.

Hotel Shop

There isn’t one.

Hotel Vibe

It is smaller than most resorts that we have been to. There are more teenagers than young kids, so it is a very laid back and chilled vibe.

Kids Clubs

The club caters for 0-12 year olds, with a stipulation that if your child is under 4 they must be accompanied by an adult. The staff at the club are highly qualified and all well trained. They will paint, bake, play games and take the children on tours of the hotel gardens, often organising outdoor games. Club hours are from 11am-1pm and 3pm-5.45pm.

Located 5 minutes’ drive from Estepona, and a short drive to Puerto Banus and Marbella. Short ferry ride and you can be in Tangier, Morocco.

Two outdoor pools, one indoor heated swimming pool, a steam room, a Finnish sauna, and relaxation room. Bear in mind the pool access does not start till 10am.

There is a large selection of different room types available (all rates based on half board).

All the rooms have space for a baby cot, and there is a sofa bed, but bear in mind that some rooms have a maximum number of occupants limit. They all have marble bathrooms and most have a separate shower and bath. There’s a laptop-size safe, flat screen television and a working desk in all the rooms.

  • Premier Rooms are pretty standard with a small balcony with a partial sea view. Good choice if you’re planning on spending more time enjoying the resort’s facilities than being your room. There’s also a sofa bed and enough room for a baby cot, and some have connecting doors. There are no coffee and tea facilities. EUR 265.
  • Deluxe Rooms have views of the tropical gardens, a small terrace, some of the deluxe rooms have connecting doors. Again , a good choice if you are planning on spending more time utilising resort facilities. There are no coffee and tea facilities. EUR 250.
  • Classic Rooms have also have connecting doors, and are a better standard of décor. There are no coffee and tea facilities. EUR 235.
  • Premier Plus Rooms are the most superior, they all have views of Marbella Bay and the beach, and coffee and tea facilities are included. EUR 285.

There are two suite options available. Both have all the standard facilities plus in-room coffee and tea facilities.

  • Junior Suites have walk-in closets, a good size living space, a marble bathroom, and a terrace - all 80 square meters. EUR 465.
  • Grand Suite all glorious 100 square meters. The bedroom has a walk-in closet, and you have a living space and secluded little dining area, and again the fabulous terrace. EUR 485.
  • And then if you wish to take things to whole new level there are the exclusive suites: five in total, The Royal Suite, The Presidential Suite, The Imperial Suite, The Suite Del Mar and The Bahia Residential Suite.

Spa & Pampering for Adults

We love Kempinski spa, they do it really well. From the relaxation areas to the individual treatment rooms to the extensive spa menu. The product brands are Niance and Natura Bisse. Niance is a Swiss brand which caters for men and women. The main focus of the products is anti-aging. The brand was launched in 2007, and the promise is that the effective products and holistic treatment methods will produce visibly rejuvenated skin. After a treatment I didn’t look magically younger but they did leave my skin with a nice glow.

Kempinski is the only hotel in mainland Spain that has Niance products in their spa.

There is also Pedi:Mani:Cure studio, but the opening hours are restricted to certain seasons.

Spa & Wellbeing for Kids

There are no specific treatments available for children in the spa, nevertheless you can request a massage for the children. Normally just a 25 or 50 minute massage, depending on the age of the child. If you book your treatment before your arrival date you will be entitled to 20% early booker discount.

During the summer months, Kempinski offer banana riding, canoeing, paddle boating, and  snorkeling. If you have older children, take a ride on a jet ski or hire a boat for a private excursion.

There’s a tennis court, volleyball on the beach and of course Costa del Golf where the golf concierge can help you select the best course.

Segway tours and bike rentals can also be arranged.
